We care about your care!
I had my baby son in March 2009 at the Rosie. My husband and I hadn't done a tour, but had vaguely thought that we'd like to use the MLBU. As it turned out this was closed when we went in, but having not visited I didn't realise and everything happened in such a blur anyway it didn't matter. The care that I received was great. I was lucky that it was fairly quiet and so I was able to use the birthing pool (not something I had planned on ) which was wonderful. The midwives were competant and helpful and the facilities were good, although the postnatal ward was dark and depressing. I found it hard to be cooped up with no windows, curtains drawn etc when I knew it was a lovely sunny day outside.
As a first time Mum the antenatal midwife care seemed a bit lax, I had trouble getting appointments and there was often a big gap in between them. Having said that the midwife was extremel nice, just overworked. This worried me a little at the time, but now looking back, as everything was absolutely fine, I can see that further checks weren't too necessary.
