I elected to be induced at 13 days overdue (Dec 2008). I felt the community midwife hadn't given me enough information about the process and was surprised that my daughter was born 4 days later. With hindsight I think I should have waited longer. That said, the care at the Rosie delivery unit was amazing. Not so for Lady Mary IMO - before and after. A first midwife identified "she isn't feeding properly" but then various different midwives saw us with noone spending any time helping me with technique or watching how things went and noone clearing us to leave. We demanded self check out in the end as we felt we'd get better support at home from the community midwife :-(
